Syed Danish Yaseen Naqvi, obtained a degree of M.Sc & Ph.D in Plant Pathology (Mycology) with the specialization of Bio-pesticides from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Allahabad, India in 2006 & 2010 respectively. I have joined as an Assistant Professor (Mycologist) in December 2010 in the Department of Plant Protection, Hamelmalo Agricultural College, Keren, Eritrea. I have teaching and research experience more than ten years, also served as Head of Department of Plant Protection from 2013 up to 2018. To my credit, more than 30 research articles on ‘bio-pesticide formulations’, ‘management of major diseases and insect pests on major field crops, vegetables and fruits’ through Bio-control agents and botanical pesticides, ‘mycoflora’ and ‘incidence of diseases in various crops in Eritrea’ have been published in well reputed journals. Attended more than 20 seminars and symposia conducted at national and international levels, two books & one manuals on ‘Eco friendly management of chick pea pest’, ‘Eco-friendly management of chickpea pest’ and ‘laboratory manual for plant diseases’ were also published. I am also reviewers and member for few research journals and societies. Advisor/Co-advisor/ examiners for four PG students and more than 54 students pursued their senior research projects under my supervision completed their graduation. I also handled research project as Principal Investigators/ Co-PI funded by Japan International Cooperation agency, National Commission for Higher Education, Eritrea and Eritrean Research Fund. The Society of Tropical Agriculture, India awarded me as Young Scientist and Scientist of the Year in 2018.
